A new effort has been made to include the effect of temperatuer in high pressure phase transition studies with. Three body potential (TBP) model and presented in this paper. Earlier studies of the phase transitions with TBP model have been carried by assuming the equilibrium at 0?K instead of room temperature. How this theory can be formulated to study the solid-phase transition in the condensed materials is discussed in this article.

View:    Abstract |  PDF  |  XML|

Mictrostructure and formation mechnaism of Fe/Ai/Cr8-Ni8 joint, which was obtained by diffusion-bonding with 1333K for 3.6ks at a pressure of 17.5 MPa, were analyzed by means of Scanning electron microsocopy (SEM), Electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD). The results indicated that new phase including feAl,Ni and a-Fe (Ai) solid solution were formed during the diffusion bonding of Fe3 Al intermetallic to Cr18-Ni8 steel. And the microstructure of diffusion-bonded Fe2Al/Cr18 Ni8 joint is Fe3/Al (Fe3Al+FeAl)Ni3 Al/a-fe(Al)/Cr18-Ni8.

Energy dispersive EXAFS data has been analysed for the nickel b-diketonate catalyst, Ni (dpm)2, using curved was theory with ab initio phase shifts. The derived parameters for nickel intermediate compounds were in good agreement, within experiment error of 0.02-0.05A fro the bond distances. A stopped flow system was used fro in situ time-resolved EDE studies on the nikel systems at room temperature. The growth of a pre-edge feature and changed at the top of the edge can be clearly seen to show the reaction reached completion in less than 6s indicates averaged distances fo 3Ni/O-/C 2.00 A.

H2PtCL6 was used for the preparation of Pt/Al2O3 by thermal treatment at 380?C then, reduction by hydrogen. Dipersion of Pt/Al2O3 much higher when the pretreatment of H2PtCl was done in oxygen atmosphere at 380?C then in helium atmosphere. The intremediates formed through the investigated thermal pretreatment process were PtCl6 was done at 260?C and 380?C respectively when helium was the atmosphrere fo pretreatment while Pt(OH)Cl3, and probadly PtO2 were obtained at the above temperature when oxygen was the atmosphere of the pretreatment.

Blends Expoxidized Oil/Acacia Polymeric Films and their Effect of External Stimuli on the Equilibrium Swelling Properties

Pages : 23-34

Sharif Ahmad1, M. Aslam Khan2 and Najim Z. Khan1

View:    Abstract |  PDF  |  XML|

Polymeric films were developed from the expoxidized oil with different ratios of polyamide and Gum acacia blending. The influences of external stimuli such as pH temperature and ionic strength of the swelling media and the type of buffer on the equilibrium swellign proeries were investigated.Equilibrium and oscillatroy swelling medium. Polymeric films showed typical pH and temperature responces such as low-pH and low-temperature have maximum sewlling while high-pH nd high-temperature show almost complete deswelling. Moreover it was attributed that the polymeric films/ hydrogels with higher concentration of expoxidized oil and gum acacia showed higher rate of swelling while the films with high amount of DGEBA epoxy and low concentration of expoidized oil have minimum possible swelling

Dynamic Mechanical Behaviour of Vigin PP/PET Blends

Pages : 45-52

Navin Chand1*, T. Kitano2, Ajay1 and S. A. R Hashmi1

View:    Abstract |  PDF  |  XML|

In this paper, virgin polyethylene tere phthalates has been blended in an elastic extruder with three different types of polyrpoylenes such as low viscoity polypropylene (A 50 12), high visocity PP ( K 7050) and modifed (XXP 707W). Dynamic mechanical behaviour such as storage modulus (Er) and dissipation factor (tax) of these blends has been determined at different temperatures. Effects of blending ratio on storage modulus and dissipation factor have been determined, compared and analyzed. It has been found that addition of PET increased the storage modulus of PP due to the higher modulus of PET. An additional peak has been observed in tan plots obtained for PP/PET blends. This additional peak corresponds to a- relaxation of PET. Type of PP addition has also modified the dissipation factor (Tan d) and storage modulus Er behavious of blends

View:    Abstract |  PDF  |  XML|

The synthesis of water insoluble poly 8-quinolinylarylate was investigated for free radical polymerization. The kinetics of plymerizatio of 8-quinolinylarcylate initiated by AIBN in DMF at 60-100?C were studied. The rate of polymerization was determined at various concentration of monomer and initiator. The overall activation energy was found to be 15.0 K.J. mol-1

Some disperse dyestuff which include two sulphonate groups in their structures were esterifed by different molar ratios of lauroyl chloride to produce some laureate ester. Surface properties before and esterification were meaured, PC20, Imax, Amin pCMC and DG?m for the esterifed compounds were also evaluated. The results obtained show promising applicbility for these esterified compounds as surface active agents

View:    Abstract |  PDF  |  XML|

A high temperature polyester (polyglyceryl triacrylate) have been synhesised by the esterfication of glycerol and acrylic acid followed by addition polymerization of glyceryl triacrylate in presence of benzoyl peroxide. The polyster Is thermoest, solid very hard comence of ester linkage. Differential scanning calorimeter show that the polyester is thermally stable upto 350?C A tentaive structure of the polymer is proposed.

View:    Abstract |  PDF  |  XML|

The thermal degradation of Zinc-O, O-diethyl dithiophosphate has been invesgitaged at 190?C in n-hexadecane. The major products have been identified as O, S, S-triethyl trithiophosphate (Ets)2,P(S) Oet, O-O,S-triethyl dithiphosphate, Ets P (S) (Oet),2, S,S,S-triehyl detrathiophosphate, (Ets)3 PS-O,S-S, triethyl dithiophosphate, (EtS)3 PS, O,S,S-triethyl dithiophosphate, (EtS) P(O) Oet and O,)s, trietyl thiophosphate, Ets P (O) (Oet)2. The degradation is suggested to involve thino-thiolo isomerisation coupled with disproportination of sulfur and oxygen linked to phosphorous.

View:    Abstract |  PDF  |  XML|

One of the effective metods of controlling scale formation is the use of inhibitors. The addition of scale inhibitor to the feed water would be an effective method to reduce or prevent scale formatio in oil fields and water system. For this reason, this work pertain to study the effect of prepared antiscalants on the solubilization of sparingly soluble inortanic salts such as calcium carbonate and calcium sulfate. Different types of surfacants and organic anions based on phosphorylated and phosphomethlation of alkanolamine, and phophomethlation pound as scale inhibitors has bee evaluated using the standard test method (NACE). The reults inticate that the amounts of soluble scales are strongly affect ed by inhibitor concentrations. The effectivness of inhibitors to prevent the nucleation and crystallization of the supersaturated calcium slfate are signigicantly higher than the correspondnig calcium carbonat e solution.
