Synthesis, characterization and Thermal Studies of a N, N’- bis(2- hydroxy- alpha- methyl benzylidene) -1, 9- nonanyldiamine Uranyl (VI) nitrate [UO2(HMND)]2+

N, N’- bis(2- hydroxy- alpha- methyl benzylidene) -1,9- nonanyldiamineabbreviated as HMND was synthesized and characterized. N, N’- bis(2- hydroxy- alpha- methyl benzylidene) -1,9- nonanyldiamineUranyl (VI) nitrate prepared by reaction of nitrate salt of UO2(NO3)2.6H2O with HMND. In this research, some of the inorganic complexes of uranyl with N- donor ligands were synthesized. Complexes were characterized by FT-IR and UV, ¹HNMR, ¹³CNMR spectra, TG/DTG measurements and some physical properties. The results of simultaneous TG-DTG-DTA analyses of the complexes show the final degradation product for these complexes are UO3. The antitumor activity of used ligands and their complexes against a panel of human tumor cell lines (HT29: Haman colon adenocarcinoma cell line T47D: human breast adenocarcinoma cell line) were studied and determined by MTT (3-[4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2,5-diphenyl-tetrazolium bromide) assay. These data suggest that some of these compounds provide good models for the further design of potent antitumor materials. Also the results show chelation causes drastic change in the biological properties of the ligands and also the metal moiety. So the toxic effects of uranyl can be prevented by using chelating agent and complexation of the potentially multidentate ligands.

Dielectric Properties of (CdSe)1-X(ZnS)X Mixed Semiconductor Compounds

Dielectric permittivity has been an important property of binary and mixed semiconductor materials as it is closely related to the studies on polarization and relaxation mechanisms. Therefore, dielectric properties of (CdSe)1-X(ZnS)X mixed semiconductors are studied at different frequencies. The mixed semiconductor samples used in the study are grown by controlled co-precipitation method. From these studies ac conductivity, static and optical dielectric constants, relaxation times and activation energy of dipole relaxation are determined. The variation of dielectric constant with frequency and composition of the sample was explained on the basis of Koops grain boundary mechanism.

We describe the synthesis and characterization of a new silver (I) complex of the Schiff base ligand (E) - N-(3-nitrobenzylidene) is onicotinohydrazide that abbreviated as NNBIH was synthesized and characterized. Ag (I) Metal complex of this Schiff base ligand prepared by reaction of nitrate salt of Ag (I) with NNBIH. Characterization of the ligand was made by microanalyses, FT-IR, UV–Visible spectroscopy and its complex was made by microanalyses, FT-IR and UV–Visible spectroscopy. TG- DTA and other analytical methods have been applied to the investigation of the thermal behavior and Structure of the compound [Ag(NNBIH)2]+. Thermal decomposition of these compounds is multistage processes.

Evaluation of Different Forces for Super Finishing the Internal Surface of Ballizing process

This paper is an attempt towards comparing experimental and theoretically results of forces obtained by varying interference. with of contact of the Tool and materials , calculated theoretically, may also be helpful for many production and design calculations. The fatigue strength can be increased by 50 to 100% or even more as a result of cold surface plastic deformation. Cold plastic deformation completely eliminates the unwanted stress raisers. Fatigue strength of machine components can be increased by plastic deformation. Various steels, cast irons and non ferrous alloys, all undergo favorable changes in their surface layers form fatigue strength view point as a result of cold plastic deformation. Surface of work piece hardening, perhaps the most effective method of increasing the fatigue strength of machine components. Use of cold plastic deformation increases the wear resistance of machine components. The explanation is that the relationship between the contact area and the force is near linear for these materials, and therefore the contact pressure force as a ratio of force to area is practically constant. In the case of hard metals (for example hardened steels) the significant elasticity causes the contact area to increase more slowly than the force. Therefore the contact pressure force for hardened steels increases with the Ballizing force. As the forces required are excessive, Tensile testing machine .The material of the ball is so selected that it is not suggests 2 to 3 percent interference between the ball and the hole. In the experience Hardened steel balls were used for low carbon, or medium carbon steel bushes. Aluminium bushed and the same hardened steel ball combinations were also used. Ball Ballizing is a mass production process for improving the accuracy and surface finish of holes.

Determination of Metals of Toxicological Significance in Waste Water Irrigated Vegetables of Satna Region

Untreated or partially treated wastewater is widely used for irrigation in water scarce regions in several countries including India. While the nutrients contained in the wastewater is considered as beneficial to agriculture, the contaminants present in wastewater pose health risks directly to agricultural workers and indirectly to consumers of the waste water grown product. In the present work effects of municipal waste water irrigation on the accumulation of heavy metals Pb, Ni and Cd in vegetables was investigated by monitoring waste water irrigated agricultural fields of Satna area. It was found that the vegetables grown with waste water had higher concentrations of metals than those irrigated with tube well water with highest concentration of all the metals found in Spinach i.e. Pd, Cd and Ni to be 5.5, 4.0 and 6.2 mg/Kg dry weight respectively.

Effect of Nylon-6 Concentration on the Properties of Hot Melt Adhesive Synthesized using Dimer Acid and Ethylenediamine

Hot melt adhesive synthesized using polymerized fatty acid (PFA) (composition: ~1%  trilinoleic acid, ~97% dilinoleic acid and ~2% linoleic acid) and ethylenediamine was blended with nylon-6, in-situ during the synthesis process to improve its performance properties. Nylon-6 was added in concentrations as 5, 10, 15 and 20 phr in the hot melt adhesive. The prepared blends were characterized for thermal (melting temperature, crystallization temperature, enthalpy of melting and enthalpy of crystallization), mechanical (tensile strength, tensile modulus, stiffness, percentage elongation at break and hardness), adhesion (lap shear strength and T-peel strength) and rheological properties. It was found that the viscosity, tensile strength, tensile modulus,
stiffness, hardness, melting temperature, enthalpy of melting, crystallization temperature and enthalpy of crystallization increased with increase in concentration of nylon-6 in the hot melt adhesive. But lap shear strength and T-peel strength increased up to 10 phr concentration of nylon-6 above which both started decreasing. Percentage elongation at break decreased with increase in concentration of nylon-6 in the hot melt adhesive. Hot melt adhesive molecules must have oriented themselves about nylon-6, increasing its crystallinity, and thus the strength of the adhesive.

Determination and Characterization of New Palladium Complexes and Study of their Properties

In the current study, two complexes prepared using ligands derived from hydrazine, tris [N (2, 4 di nitro phenyl) N’-(3-Nitro benzylidene) hydrazine[Pd(C13H10N5O4)]Cl2 and tris [N(2, 4 di nitro phenyl) N’-(3-phenyl alylidene) hydrazine[Pd(C15H13N4O4)]Clusing spectrometry techniques of UV-VIS and IR methods. In the current compounds, the way these ligands bonding with central metal investigated using IR method. Substitutions of C=N and C=O indicate that palladium being coordinated with ligands.

Investigation on Solid Polymer Electrolyte (SPE) Membrane of Composition [(1-X) PEO: x AgCl] Prepared by Hot Press Technique

Solid polymer Electrolyte (SPE ) is prepared by using PEO as host polymer and AgCl as salt in appropriate wt% ratio of the composition [(1-X) PEO: x AgCl ] where X = 10, 20, 30, 40 etc.by novel hot press technique. For ion transport property study conductivity (s) measurement is done for various composition x in (wt %) and the composition [70 PEO: 30 AgCl] is identified as optimum conducting composition (OCC). The variation in conductivity as a function of temperature is analysed and activation energy (Ea) is computed be least square fitting of the data of conductivity with respect to temperature. The conductivity enhancement of more than one order is obtained in SPE (OCC) as compare to pure PEO. The morphological and structural characterization of SPE membrane is done by using XRD/DSC, SEM, and FTIR studies.

A Nobel Smart Antenna for Broad-Band Applications

In this research paper a short review on smart antenna is presented. The smart antenna consisting of micro strip patches array has been presented. It will enable a higher capacity in wireless networks by effectively reducing multipath and co-channel interference. This is achieved by focusing the radiation only in the desired direction and adjusting itself to changing or signal environment. A Nobel technique is investigated to form the desired shape forming of beam. This has become a part of range improvement and increase in capacity of smart antenna.

Noise Minimization in Wireless Network

The 2Dwhitenoise model has been extended to represent a modified power law that is realistic. It allows for finite moments for the interference.The white noise processes with a decaying power law.Impulse response functions are ideally suited for modeling the network self-interference in an ad hoc network.The nodes are distributed in a plane according to a Poisson point process. A stochastic impulse response function is used to model different random parameters like channel fluctuation, variable transmission power of the nodes etc. For a decaying power law, all the moments of the interference diverge.We have presented performance curves for the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel with and without variable transmission power at the nodes.We have imposed a guard zone around each receiver node in the network to modify the shot noise model to this channel access scheme and demonstrate the improvement in pernode throughput the guard zone.

Computer analysis reveals that the anomalous behavior of symmetric Log Periodic Dipole Array (LPDA)Antennahas infloenced by different parameters . The most important is mainly due to the radiation of the dipole elements in the anomalous radiating region which is excited by the transmission line resonance of the feed structure. In the design by changing the element spacing , changes of length of each element in the LPDA antenna and define cross eaching in an boom of an antenna in middle of the specified element the result is the return loss less from 200 MHZ to 1500 MHZ other than the notch between 850 MHZ 950 MHZ according to the simulation results.The log-periodical Dipole Antenna (LPDA) is a kind of ultra wide-band antennas. To achieve the purpose of miniaturization of the LPDA in radiate direction, this paper presents anunusual structure log-periodically loaded with slot cross-shape design.

Axial Flow Fan Design Parameter Affecting the Performance

Axial flow fans are employed in heat exchangers and other engineering systems where the flow path around the fan becomes like a duct. The flow takes place along the axis of rotation of the rotor. The flow is essentially symmetrical to the axis. The design calculations are performed with presumption of flow through cascade of blade and it is the main governing factor of the design too. In this paper procedural calculation for an axial flow fan with profiled blade are presented. Calculations are tabulated for different parameter of radius and angles. On profiling, the increase of outlet angle has been shown which gives ultimate angle opening. The small corrections are therefore obtained. Different parameters used in the design are tabulated to get the calculation more accurately.
