ABSTRACT:Electronic spectra of 4-bromo-2,6-dimethyl phenol in polar solvents (ethanol, methanol and chloroform) have been recorded in the region 200 to 400nm. The effect of change of solvent on electronic transitions of this compound is explained. The effect of pH variation in ethanol solvent has also been studied.
