ABSTRACT:

The study of enzymes occupies a very important position in biological, medical and industrial research. The question whether the extremely low frequency electromagnetic fields (ELF EMF) cause biological effects is of special interest. We investigated the effect of extremely low frequency electromagnetic field (ELF EMF) (50 Hz 0.5 mT) on the activity of Urease (EC 3.5.1.5). Our results showed there was an increase in the enzyme activity and velocity of the reaction when it was exposed to ELF EMF.
