Computational Methods in Material Science

The goal of this special issue is to provide a platform for scientists and academicians all over the world to promote, share, and discuss various new issues in computational materials science at different length scales. Its scope is broad to encompass research at the atomistic, micro and macro length scales. It includes experimental as well as computational and theoretical works that advance the field of computational materials science through the application of modern computational methods alone or in conjunction with experimental techniques to discover new materials and investigate existing inorganic materials, such as metals, ceramics, composites, nanostructures, 2D materials, metamaterials etc.

Scope

In this special issue, we invite front-line researchers and authors to submit original research and review articles that explore materials science at different length scales. In this special issue, potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Atomistic modeling such as Molecular dynamics (MD), Density functional theory (DFT).
  • Micro scale modeling such as dislocation dynamics (DD) or crystal plasticity (CP).
  • Meso scale modeling such as Phase-field (PF) or cellular automation.
  • Big data analysis and high-performance computing application in material science.
  • Multiscale, multiphysics, multi-phase in material science.
  • Nanomechanics, micromechanics, mechanics of MEMS, NEMS system
  • Material characterization of elasticity, plasticity, viscoelasticity and viscoplasticity.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online or via email. Research articles, review articles, as well as short communications, are invited. Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere. All manuscripts undergo a double-blind two peer-reviews. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page.

Submitted manuscripts should be well formatted as per the guidelines of the journal, please read instructions for the authors before submission. View the Article Processing Charge (APC) details for publication.
